Our students are awarded some of the most prestigious fellowships and scholarships in the country as a result of their unique training, experience, work habits, and professionalism.

Careers

Nicholas Allin ’16 and Shanna Law ’16 are pursuing master’s degrees in geology
and geochemistry, respectively, at Montana Tech in Butte, Montana.

Jenna Faith ’17 is pursuing her master’s degree at the University of Texas El Paso.

Leandra Glumac '14 is currently employed as a residence director at Juniata College Raystown Field Station.

Kristin Kopera ’17 is pursuing her master’s degree at Wright State University. 

Garrett Lavelle ’16 is employed at Environmental Products and Services in
Williston, Vermont.

Monica McGrath ’13 is employed in material science at R.J. Lee group, in Monroeville, Pennsylvania., where she interned prior to graduating.

Joe Orso ’17 is pursuing his master’s degree at Iowa State University. 

Paula Pryor ’14 is currently enrolled in graduate school at Illinois State University. 

Pat Rea ’15 is pursuing a graduate degree at University of Texas-El Paso. He has received a full scholarship to attend this program.

Post-Secondary Education

Approximately half of our students apply to and attend graduate school directly after completing their undergraduate degrees. An additional 25% of our alumni complete graduate degrees at a later time. In seven of the previous eight years, every Juniata geology student who applied to graduate programs was accepted with full funding--the vast majority into multiple programs. ("Full funding" means that the student did not pay for the graduate program and also received a stipend to cover living expenses.) Over the past 10 years, our students have attended graduate programs at the following universities:
