Mentoringmentoring at JCEL

Our mentoring process connects students with alumni and local business professionals who navigate students through the intricacies of starting and growing businesses - giving them a real world perspective. JCEL also connects student entrepreneurs with service providers (such as local media, attorneys, accountants and insurance professionals) to help them manage specific aspects of their operations.

Our mentors and service providers, who volunteer to work with students, are seasoned entrepreneurs with a variety of business experiences. These individuals have a real world appreciation of the problems that businesses face and the experience to assist new entrepreneurs in avoiding or overcoming obstacles to future development. We ensure mentors are matched to address individual needs.

What does it mean to be a mentor?

Mentors are people who will voluntarily help our student startups go the extra mile to help others and exert a positive influence on their lives. By becoming a mentor, it offers the student entrepreneurs the chance to receive valuable information on what and what-not to do with their startup by also acting as an asset towards their development and learning as entrepreneurs.
