Search for Grant and Contract Opportunities

Private foundations, public (or national) foundations, and corporations all provide grants to Juniata. To begin your search, articulate to yourself (and others) a good idea with demonstrated need. Then, determine a few keywords to search for funding and start exploring the funding databases below.

Making a Quality Proposal

To help Juniata grants writers prepare quality grant applications for support, Juniata has created a number of tips, tools, and templates from which grants writers can pull information commonly used in external applications.

Approvals and Coordination

Juniata requires grants to be internally approved before submission to any external funding organizations in order to ensure that the grant is correctly prepared, appropriately commits the institution's resources, represents the institution well, is consistent with the goals of the institutions, and appropriately notifies all of the involved parties. Download the internal approval form.

In addition, projects which involve human subjects, research animals, biohazards, or recombinant DNA require additional clearances. Contact the Grants and Contracts Office or Office of the Provost for the specific policies and clearances required for these special considerations.

Submitting a Proposal

For help in using common online submission formats such as Grants.gov, the National Science Foundation's Fastlane, Pennsylvania’s Single Application for Assistance, the National Institutes of Health eRA Commons, or other online services, please contact Michael Keating, Director for Corporation and Foundation Support or Genna Welsh Kasun, Marketing and Development Writer.

Contracts and Policies

To help Juniata researchers contract with external parties, Juniata has developed templates of routine contract documents and policies.  But for more customized needs, Juniata has an outside attorney to assist and advise.  To access Juniata counsel requires authorization from Provost Lauren Bowen.
