The National Conference on Undergraduate Research promotes undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activities by providing an opportunity for students to present their scholarly work to an audience of peers from around the country and in all disciplines. Now in its 31st year, NCUR typically draws between 3000 and 4000 undergraduate students and faculty, and offers presentation opportunities in all disciplines: natural and social sciences, humanities, and fine and performing arts.
NCUR 2017 will be held at the University of Memphis, in Memphis, Tennessee. Details about the conference can be found at the the NCUR 2017 web site. Travel dates will be from Wednesday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9, 2017.
Students wishing to present at NCUR 2017 may apply for travel grants to cover the cost of registration, travel, lodging, and food. All currently enrolled Juniata College undergraduate students are eligible to apply for funding to attend NCUR 2017. Students must have worked with a Juniata faculty or staff member who served as a mentor to the project. Only one application and abstract may be submitted by each student. If multiple students are listed as co-authors on an abstract, only one representative from the team will be funded to attend the conference.
If you have another source of funding to support your attendance at NCUR, such as external grant funds, you do not need to apply for a travel grant. (Be sure that your alternative source of funding is secured!) We will still coordinate travel, including registration, airline ticket purchase and hotel accomodations. All Juniata students attending NCUR, regardless of funding source, are part of the Juniata delegation and responsible for following the policies established by the college.

- Sign the travel grant application form, and get the signature of your faculty/staff mentor.
- Attach a copy of the abstract that you will be submitting with your NCUR application.
- Turn in the form and abstract to Founders Hall Room 319 between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm, or email both to Megan Neville at email@example.com.
To be considered for financial support to attend NCUR 2017, your application must be received by 5:00 pm on Monday, November 21, 2016.
After you have secured funding, you must submit their abstract to NCUR for consideration by the Dec. 2, 2016 deadline. Funds will be awarded pending acceptance of the abstract by NCUR. Instructions regarding the conference registration procedure for accepted students will be communicated to students in January 2017.
