Biography

Rebecca Weldon joined the Juniata College faculty in 2016 as an assistant professor of psychology after working as a postdoctoral research associate at Cornell University.

Weldon earned a bachelor's degree in biopsychology in 2003 from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She went on to earn a doctoral degree in psychology in 2012 from the George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Weldon's expertise is in cognitive neuroscience. Her research interests include the neural mechanisms of decision making and cognitive control. The primary focus of her graduate research was working memory capacity and conflict adaptation. At Cornell University, she conducted behavioral and functional magnetic resonance imaging studies of adolescent risky decision making.

Weldon has published in several academic journals, including Acta Psychologica, Current Directions in Psychological Science, the Journal of Applied Research in Memory and Cognition, and the Journal of Undergraduate Neuroscience Education. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Cognitive Neuroscience Society, Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience, the Psychonomic Society, and the Society for Judgment and Decision Making.
