HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- More than a dozen national companies, as well as local and regional firms, will seek out promising students in search of jobs, internships or networking connections  at Juniata College’s Career Fair, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, in the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center intramural gym.

            The fair last year featured more than 120 employers from Pennsylvania and across the country, including 11 Fortune 500 companies. Some 500 resume-carrying students toured the career event last year. In addition, there will be recruiters from such federal agencies as the Peace Corps, the FBI and all the military services, such as the U.S. Army, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force

            Students who visit the fair are encouraged to dress in professional business attire.

            The program on the day of the Career Fair begins with employer check-in at 11 a.m. There will be refreshments served, along with a light lunch, during the hours of the fair.

            Career Day is the culmination of a weeklong series of career-oriented activities throughout the week.

--Monday, Feb. 20: “Undergraduate Research: How to Get Involved and Why it Matters After Graduation,” which details how to seek out and secure research opportunities with faculty, will start at 5 p.m., in Neff Lecture Hall in the von Liebig Center for Science.

--Tuesday, Feb 21: “Federal Job Search: Tips and Tricks,” gives students insight on how to apply for jobs in the federal government or within federal agencies. The event starts at 7 p.m. in Neff Lecture Hall.

--Thursday, Feb 23: “Surviving and Thriving in Today’s Inclusive Workplace,” offers employment advice at 7 p.m. in Room C116 in the Brumbaugh Academic Center.

--Clothing Donations: In addition, the Office of Career Services is collecting gently used business attire clothing for men and women as part of the college’s Career Clothing Campaign. Donations can be dropped off at Career Services in Ellis Hall or call the office at 814-641-3550 to have donated items picked up.

            --Reception, Feb. 24: A wine and cheese networking reception will start at 3:30 p.m. for alumni and parents, with students allowed in at 4 p.m. in the ballroom of Ellis Hall.
