HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College staff members and faculty will share stories of how they embrace diversity issues such as gender, race, religion, ability, sexual orientation, and other issues, in the panel presentation, "Who's Your Neighbor: Story Listening," at 3 and 7 p.m., Sept. 12 in Sill Boardroom in the Von Liebig Center for Science.

The 3 p.m. panel discussion is designed for faculty and staff at the college. The 7 p.m. event is intended for students and is open to the public.

The panel is part of the Beyond Tolerance Event Series, featuring discussions and workshops focusing on diversity issues.

Panelists at the event will share personal narratives on how they approach diversity issues in their professional and personal lives.
Panelists participating in the event are:

--Lauren Bowen, provost at Juniata, has been provost since 2014. Previously, she served as associate academic vice president, and in several other administrative positions, at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio.

--Rick Cartwright, campus minister for athletics, is a deacon and an elder in the United Methodist Church. He earned a master's degree in divinity from Duke University in 1979.

--Athena Frederick, registrar at Juniata, joined the administrative executive staff at the college in 2000. Previously, she was registrar at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, from 1996 to 2000.

--Doug Glazier and Debra Kirchhoff Glazier are professors of biology at Juniata. They both joined the faculty in 1980. Both professors have been active in disability issues on and off-campus.
