Huntingdon, PA - Juniata guard Jeff Lau (York Catholic/Glen Rock) was named the Commonwealth Conference men's basketball "player of the week," for the week ending Nov. 30.

Lau began the week by racking up 17 points and three assists against Penn State Altoona. He was 4-of-7 from three-point range and was 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Lau also pulled down three rebounds and had four takeaways. Lau success continued into the next game at Allegheny as he scored 24 points and had two assists. He went 4-of-6 behind the three-point arc and shot 10-for-17 from the floor. Lau also pulled five rebounds and had four steals in the contest. Lau scored six points with two assists and four rebounds in his last game of the week against Mount Union College. For the week, Lau averaged 15.7 points per game, four rebounds per game, and three steals per game.

For the season, Lau is averaging 13.4 points a game and has scored in double figures in three of five Juniata contests. He also led the Eagles in scoring in two games this season. To kick off the 2002-2003season, Lau was named the tournament MVP at the Doc Greene tournament in Huntingdon.

Lau is a leader for the Juniata Eagles men's basketball team that has started off with an impressive 4-1 start this season. They opened the season in Huntingdon by winning the Doc Greene tournament and also earned wins against Penn State Altoona and Allegheny College. The Eagles have outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points per game this year. The Eagles return home this week to open conference play against Messiah.
