HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's volleyball grabbed a commanding 4-0 advantage in the Landmark Conference standings with victories over the University of Scranton and Susquehanna University, completing day two play at the Landmark's round robin weekend at Juniata's Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.

Juniata (14-4, 4-0 Landmark) began the day with a 3-0 win over Scranton, posting set scores of 25-10, 25-13, and 25-15. The Eagles closed out Sunday with a 3-0 triumph over Susquehanna, by set scores of 25-13, 25-9, and 25-23.

Hard-hitting sophomore outside hitter Amy Miller (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) pounded out nine kills to pace the Juniata offense against Scranton, and added an ace, a block assist, and five digs. Outside hitter Rachelle Wiegand (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) and middle Christine Sumner (Dublin, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) each charted six kills to aid the Eagle cause, with Sumner having a hand in four blocks.

The Eagles hit .304 against Scranton while holding the Royals to a -.101 attack percentage. Senior Libby Morrison (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School) sprawled for 16 digs in two sets at the libero position; Brittani Young (Columbia, Pa./Hempfield Area) put on the alternate jersey for the third set, and finished with eight digs.

Courtney Greenberg (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers) logged 34 set assists, with an ace and seven digs.

Scranton's Julia Crilly had a team-high four kills for the Royals, who recorded 25 errors against just 15 kills by the entire squad.

Juniata made equally short work of Susquehanna in the final match of the round robin weekend, hitting .250 to the Crusaders' .033 attack clip.

Kelsey Fuller (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) and Miller each had seven kills to lead the Eagles, while middle Ashley Schnader (Reinholds, Pa./Garden Spot) and Wiegand tacked on five kills each. Amelia Kepler (Kane, Pa./Kane Area) had three kills, and also had a hand on three blocks.

Morrison finished with 10 digs and served up three aces against Susquehanna, while Young sprawled for eight. Greenberg led Juniata with 11 digs, and logged 35 assists.

Susquehanna (5-13, 2-1 Landmark) was paced by Emily Carson with nine kills and three total blocks.

Juniata returns to action next weekend when it travels to Newport News, Va., to compete in the Christopher Newport Invitational.
