HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's and women's tennis teams each picked up some clutch performances from younger players on their way to victories over Lancaster Bible College on Friday afternoon, both winning by 8-1 scores.

In the men's match, Clarence Yeung (Hong Kong, China/St. Joseph College) won his first collegiate singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jacob Timlin at No. 6 singles, then teamed up with Kyle Salage (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) for a No. 3 doubles victory, 8-3, over the Lancaster Bible pairing of Timlin and Collin George.

The Eagles opened the match by taking all three doubles points, and then captured five of the six singles matches. Matt Butler (Quakertown, Pa./Salisbury School, Conn.) had the toughest win of the day in his No. 3 singles match against LBC's Jeremy Davis, before finally prevailing 6-3, 7-5.

The women took two out the three doubles matches, with Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and Heather Waring (San Antonio, Texas/John Jay) improving to 2-1 on the season in doubles play with an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles over the Chargers' duo of Bri Funk and Moriah Pelton. At No. 2 doubles, Juniata's Cara Stough (Friendsville, Md./Northern Garrett) and Hilary Walsh (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) also improved to 2-1 with a convincing 8-2 victory over their Lancaster Bible opponents.

The Juniata women captured all six singles matches, with Charlotte Caddick (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) picking up her first collegiate singles victory with a 6-0, 6-0 triump at No. 5 singles over LBC's Kacie Scott.

Phillips battled back at No. 3 singles to win a three-set match, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, while Walsh avoided the third set in her No. 4 singles match with Kayla Scott and eventually notched the 6-4, 7-5 win.
