ALTOONA, Pa. -- Senior Luke Waddell's (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) header goal gave Juniata what they needed to come out on top at Penn State Altoona earlier this evening in a 1-0 contest.

Sophomore Dane Azeles (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) found the head of Waddell in front of the Lions' goal for the game winner in the 33rd minute of the match.

"We have been working on a game plan and a mindset since we arrived in August. Tonight, we were able to see the payoff from all of the work we have put in," said Head Coach Dan Dubois.

In terms of shots, the Eagles and Lions were neck-and-neck with Juniata (3-3-0) ripping seven and Penn State Altoona (3-6-0) managing six in the contest. The game was littered with fouls and aggressive play with Juniata charting 17 fouls and the Lions turning in 11.

Ezra Cassel (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) is credited with the win for his 90 minutes of effort and one recorded save for the Eagles.

The Eagles next play at Winton Hill Field in Landmark Conference action against Goucher College this Saturday, Oct. 1, at 1:00 p.m. during Juniata's Homecoming & Family Weekend.
