HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's volleyball fell to ninth in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 25 Coaches poll, which was released Tuesday.

The previously-sixth ranked Eagles (1-2) defeated Hanover College at this past weekend's Wittenberg National Invitational, but dropped matches to No. 5 Wittenberg and No. 2 Emory. Emory fell to fourth in this week's poll, while Wittenberg jumped from fifth to third.

Calvin continues to hold the top spot in the poll with all 24 first-place votes, followed by Washington-St. Louis in second. Following Wittenberg and Emory, Eastern University was voted fifth with Christopher Newport University was sixth. St. Thomas (Minn.), Carthage, Juniata, and Cal Lutheran round out the top ten.

Juniata hosts Saint Vincent College this Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center. The Eagles remain at home this weekend for the 2011 ASICS Invitational, with Randolph-Macon, Franklin & Marshall, and Transylvania all visiting Huntingdon for matches.
