HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College athletics capped its 2010-11 campaign by finishing fourth in the race for the Landmark Conference Presidents' All-Sports Cup, according to final standings released Thursday.

Juniata's 17 teams that compete in the Landmark Conference finished with 5.897 points. Football (Centennial Conference) and men's volleyball (EIVA) do not participate in the Landmark Conference, and their results are not applied in the Landmark Presidents' All-Sports Cup standings.

Juniata teams captured Landmark championships in women's volleyball, field hockey, and women's basketball, while women's soccer qualified for the Landmark tournament by virtue of a top-four finish in conference play.

The men's and women's outdoor track and field teams each finished third at the Landmark championship, while the men and women were fourth and third respectively at the conference's indoor meet. In cross country, the Juniata men were second while the women's team finished third, and the women's swimming team placed sixth at the Landmark meet.

The Eagles finished fifth in last season's Landmark Presidents' All-Sports Cup standings, after placing fourth in 2008-09 and third in 2007-08.

Moravian College won the 2010-11 Presidents' All-Sports Cup on the strength of its spring sports, capturing four Landmark championships and one regular season title on its way to a third All-Sports Cup title over the last four years.

The University of Scranton was second with 6.875 points, followed by Susquehanna University with 6.463 points and Juniata College. Catholic University of America, Drew University, Goucher College, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy, listed in alphabetical order, rounded out the standings.

The Landmark Presidents' All-Sports Cup is awarded according to a formula that rewards institutions for their finishes in the regular season conference standings as well as results in Landmark post-season competition. The formula also takes into account the number of sports a school sponsors.
