HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College field hockey junior Caitlyn Bowman (Seven Valleys, Pa./Dallastown) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large College Division Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This is Bowman's first time as an Academic All-District honoree.

Bowman tallied three goals and three assists for nine points this season, finishing sixth on the team in total points. She notched her goals against Frostburg State, Washington & Jefferson, and the University of Scranton. For her career, Bowman has nine goals and six assists for 24 total points.

A two-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll student, Bowman is a six-time Dean's List student at Juniata and was named to the Fall 2010 Landmark All-Academic Team. She was a recipient of a Hollings Scholarship from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) â?" one of only 100 nationally â?" and plays viola in the Juniata Orchestra.

To be eligible for the Academic All-District squad, nominees must have at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.00 scale, have played in at least 50 percent of their team's games at the position for which they've been nominated, and must have at least sophomore athletic eligibility. The College Division includes student-athletes at the NCAA Division II and III levels, as well as NAIA and junior college, and District II includes all institutions in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

The At-Large team includes student-athletes not represented on other Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District/All-America teams in individual sports; sports included in the At-Large category include field hockey, tennis, golf, ice hockey, water polo, and skiing.

The Academic All-District teams are selected by voting of all CoSIDA members in each district, while the Academic All-America squad is selected by a national committee.
