HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College men's volleyball held onto the number two spot in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 15 Coaches Poll, but picked up an additional first-place vote to close the gap with top-ranked Springfield College.

The Eagles (9-4) tallied 227 points in the poll, earning three first-place votes.

Springfield (3-5) remained atop the AVCA's D-III poll with 237 points and earned the remaining 13 first-place votes in the voting.

UC-Santa Cruz (1-5) remained third in this week's poll, while Nazareth College (7-2) jumped to fourth and NYU (5-3) fell to fifth. Stevens (7-2), MIT (10-2), Medaille (9-0), Philadelphia Biblical (7-2), and Rivier College (10-3) rounded out the bottom half of the top ten. Medaille and Philly Bib swapped places from last week's poll, representing the only movement in the six through 10 spots.

Carthage (4-7), Emmanuel (9-3), Baruch (5-9), MSOE (0-5), and SUNY New Paltz (4-4) are ranked 11th through 15th in the poll.

Juniata has a pair of matches on tap for this week, both against ranked Division III opponents. The Eagles will host sixth-ranked Stevens on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m., with fifth-ranked NYU visiting on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. match. Both contests will take place at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
