Huntingdon, PA -- After helping the Juniata College football team to its first 3-0 start since 1987 with a win this past weekend, junior running back Craig Moshier (Coudersport/Coudersport) and senior lineman Fred Taber (Calvert Hall College/Bel Air, Md.) earned conference "player of the week" honors for their efforts.

Taber recorded a career-high four sacks in Juniata's 48-21 victory over conference foe Albright. Along with his sacks, he added two more tackles for a loss giving him a total of six tackles behind the line of scrimmage. The senior also forced a fumble that led to one of Juniata's four first-half touchdowns. Taber recorded seven tackles on the day, five solo and two assisted. For the season Taber has 16 tackles, 10 of them for a loss, and six sacks. He has forced the offense to lose 56 yards with those 10 tackles for a loss.

Moshier was honored after gaining 124 yards rushing and scoring two rushing touchdowns for the Eagles against Albright. He added 21 yards receiving and another touchdown, tying his career high for touchdowns in a game with three. His 124 rushing yards was the third highest single game mark of his career. Moshier has topped the 100-yard mark in two of Juniata's three games. He is averaging 94.3 yards per game, and 5.3 yards per carry. Moshier also leads the team with five touchdowns.

With Moshier and Taber contributing, the Eagles are off to their best start since the 1987 season when they finished 7-3. Juniata is averaging 34.6 points per game, while holding opponents to an average of 14.3. Juniata looks to keep its perfect record intact as they travel to play at Wilkes University Saturday Sept. 28.
