HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- A road loss to Wittenberg University didn't hurt Juniata College women's volleyball's standings in the national poll, while field hockey's defeat at the hands of Oneonta State did, as the two teams' respective polls were released on Tuesday.

Women's volleyball (28-5, 6-0 Landmark) remained at number four in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Coaches poll with 529 points, despite a 3-1 loss to Wittenberg (28-2). Wittenberg moved up to second with 573 points, including seven first-place votes. Washington-St. Louis (28-2) received 587 points and 15 first-place votes to remain in the top spot, while Emory (27-4) drifted from second down to third with 567 points and two first-place votes.

Eastern (27-4) fell down to eighth in the poll with 424 points, and was replaced in the top five by Christopher Newport (32-2) with 483 points.

Juniata field hockey (15-4, 6-0 Landmark) checked in at 18th in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Coaches poll, down from 17th the previous week. The Eagles dropped a 2-1 overtime decision on the road to unranked Oneonta State on Saturday, to close out the regular season.

Landmark rival Catholic University (13-3) dropped to 16th from 14th place in the poll.

Both squads are competing in Landmark tournament matches this week.

The top-seeded field hockey squad will host fourth-seeded Drew University (13-5, 3-3 Landmark) in a Landmark tourney semifinal match at 2:30 p.m. on Juniata's Winton Hill Field on Wednesday, Nov. 3. Should Juniata win on Wednesday, they would host the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 6, against the winner of the Susquehanna University/Catholic University semifinal.

Women's volleyball will host both the semifinal round and the championship at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center on Saturday, Nov. 6. The Eagles will play in the 11:00 a.m. semifinal against the winner of the Goucher College/Moravian College quarterfinal; a victory would send Juniata into Saturday night's championship match at 7:00 p.m.
