BRADFORD, Pa. -- Juniata men's soccer closed out their winning season with a 3-2 victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, with Greg Hess (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and Jeffrey Gring (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) running the Eagles offense in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon in Bradford, Pa.

Head Coach Dan Dubois and the Juniata College men's soccer team can officially celebrate their first winning season with a final record of 9-8-1 since their 10-9-0 record in 1992.

Although the scoring consisted of a back and forth battle, Hess brought the team success twice this afternoon, with both of his goals assisted by Gring. His first goal came in the 19th minute of the match and his second came in the 80th minute.

Pitt-Bradford's Toby Abdul-Razaq responded to Juniata's 1-0 lead when he connected with Nick Walker to find the back of Juniata's goalmouth in the 40th minute. The Panthers had an own goal in the 68th minute, handing over Juniata's third goal. Walker found the feet of Abdul-Razaq again for the Panther's second and final goal of the match in the 88th minute.

Juniata tallied 29 shots compared to ten from Pitt-Bradford, with Noah Bowers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) tallying six and Hess tallying seven.

Pitt-Bradford out-cornered Juniata 5-1.

Juniata keeper Ezra Cassel (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) made one save and allowed the first goal from Abdul-Razaq in the first half. Joe Kohler (Vienna, Va./James Madison) made one save and allowed the second goal from Abdul-Razaq in the second half. Tyler Williams made five saves for the Panthers and allowed the first goal from Juniata. In the second half, Andy Thomson substituted in the goal to make seven saves and allow two Juniata goals.
