SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Kim Amrod's (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) early offensive effort sparked a 2-1 lead for the Eagles past Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference field hockey action on Wednesday evening at Sassafras Fields.

Kim Amrod (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) came out on fire as she assisted Caroline Phillips (Wilmington, Del./Concord) just seven minutes into the game off a penalty corner. Only four minutes later Amrod scored after Caitlyn Bowman (Seven Valleys, Pa./Dallastown) stole the ball from a Crusader to get off the assist.

Juniata maintained their two-goal streak until Ally Bradley found the back of the cage for the Crusaders off an assist from Anna Spisak in the 59th minute.

Phillips had an active first period, two of her six shots hitting the post. Megan McGlone (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) also had two shots in the first period.

Juniata, now 3-0 in the Landmark Conference, outshot Susquehanna (2-2) for the game 18-6 while out cornering them 12-4 as well.

Senior goalkeeper Moira Nugent (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) extended her six game winning streak after 70 more minutes of action. Erin Ferguson was charged with the two goals she allowed in her 70 minutes of work.

Juniata returns to the field when it travels to its arch rival Catholic University on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m.
