HUNTINGDON Pa. -- Juniata College student-athlete Laura Fisher (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) earned Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her performances last week.

As a captain this year, Fisher is playing stronger defense then ever. Fisher was a strong defensive contributor as the Eagles picked up a pair of wins this past week. She anchored the defense as the team improved to 2-0 in the Landmark. The Juniata defense limited Moravian College to one goal and just three shots on goal, an outstanding win for the Eagles. In a non-conference win over Westminster, the defense again conceded just one score and six shots on goal over 90 minutes in a 3-1 win.

The Eagles moved to the top of the standings with a 4-1 win over Moravian while also extending their winning streak to four matches. The team has poured in 15 goals in the four-game stretch and have scored at least three goals in five of its seven wins of the season.
