ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Juniata College women's tennis fell 7-2 in several tight matches against Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. Sunday afternoon.

The Dutchmen (2-2) swept the doubles points and had successful results in the middle of their singles line-up to hand the Eagles (3-2) a loss.

In doubles, both the No. 1 and 3 matches went to a tiebreak and LVC won both, first as Shayna Heinzelman and Christie Graf beat Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) 9-8 (7-3) at No. 1. Sarah Beatty and Lauren Shanberg topped Rachel Adams (Mclean, Va./Jakarta International School) and Laura Gregory (Morrisonville, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) 9-8 (7-3) at No. 3. At No. 2, Lauren Fulmer and tam Lobb defeated Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) and Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) 8-2.

In singles, LVC won the middle four matches, first as Fulmer came back to beat Phillips 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 10-0 at No. 2, and then as Graf beat Beegle 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3. At No. 4, Lobb topped Perow 6-0, 6-3, and Alyssa Kulp was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Adams at No. 5.

Juniata picked up wins at No. 1 as Healy came back to beat Heintzelman 6-7 (2-7), 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 and Gregory defeated Beatty in a marathon 2-6, 7-6 (7-0), 10-6 match at No. 6.

The Eagles face Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster, Pa on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 3:30 pm. for their final competition of their fall season.
