Huntingdon, Pa. -- Juniata College swept Goucher College 6-0 in Landmark Conference field hockey action on Saturday at Winton Hill Field.

Five minutes into the game, Paula Price (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro) scored off of an assist from Caitlyn Bowman (Seven Valleys, Pa./Dallastown). Shauna Deschenes (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) had the second and third goal in the 21st and 37th minute. Liz Slimak (Elizabethtown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) recorded the fourth goal in the 52nd minute and Jacqueline Hoozemans (Delgauw, The Netherlands/Stanislaus College) finished a shot in the 59th minute. Brittany Kauffman (Spring Grove,Pa./Spring Grove) closed the scoring for the Eagles in the 63rd minute.

The Eagles had an outstanding overall advantage with 25 shots and 14 penalty corners compared to six of each from the Gophers.

On the defensive end, Joyce Eveleth (State College, Pa./State College Area) played a solid game. Moira Nugent (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) was the winning goalie for the day and made four saves. Micki Manheimer defended the goal for Goucher and made ten saves.

Next in line, the team travels to Frostburg State on Tuesday, Sept. 28 to play at 4:00 pm.
