GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- In a battle of Division III women's volleyball unbeatens, Juniata College dropped a 3-2 decision to Washington University-St. Louis, to open the second day of competition at the DePauw University Invitational in Greencastle, Ind.

Set scores for Washington University were 27-25, 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, and 18-16.

Senior middle Kristin Noetzel (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional) paced the Eagles with 18 kills and four blocks. Junior libero Libby Morrison (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School) put away four service aces to go with her 39 digs.

The loss to Washington University sent Juniata (11-1) into the 3rd/4th place match of the bracket crossover matches, where the Eagles notched a 3-0 win over Landmark Conference-rival Susquehanna University. Set scores for the Eagles were 26-24, 25-14, and 25-16. The win does not count as a Landmark Conference victory for Juniata.

Morrison again proved to be the defensive player to watch in the tournament, as she finished with 26 digs and was named to an All-Tournament Team for the third straight week. Junior Drew Barnhart (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) logged 10 kills against the Crusaders.

Joining Morrison on the All-Tournament squad was sophomore opposite Kelsey Fuller (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion). Fuller had 13 kills and 13 digs with three assists in the loss to Washington University, and recorded eight kills with two digs in two sets versus Susquehanna.

Second-ranked Juniata returns to the court on Friday, Sept. 24, when it travels to St. Davids, Pa., to face 10th-ranked Eastern University. Eastern jumped six spots in last week's AVCA Division III coaches poll, after twice defeating then-no. 5 Colorado College in a tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo.
