FROSTBURG, Md. -- Both Juniata College tennis teams posted wins over Frostburg State University on Wednesday afternoon, in a pair of matches played in Frostburg, Md. The Juniata men posted a 9-0 win over Frostburg, while the women's team logged a 6-3 triumph over the Bobcats.

On the women's side, Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and Maggie Wolenter (Audubon, N.J./Audubon) posted a win at no. 1 doubles, 8-4, over Elly Dannenfelser and Megan Martin. The duo went on to capture victories at no. 1 and 2 singles respectively, with Healy downing Dannenfelser, 6-1, 6-3, and Wolenter capturing a 6-0, 6-2 win over Martin.

Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) also came away with a pair of wins, teaming with Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) for a 9-7 victory at no. 2 doubles and a 6-3, 6-2 win over Caroline Shedd at no. 4 singles.

In the men's match, the closest Frostburg State came to stealing a match was at no. 1 doubles, where Jarrad Silver (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and Arnab Chakrabarti (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta) had to fight for a 9-8 (7-3) win over Mike Stevenson and Ramon Gutierrez. Silver went on to capture his no. 1 singles match against Stevenson by a 6-3, 6-2 score, while Chakrabarti logged a 6-0, 6-4 win at no. 2 singles over Gutierrez.

Tucker Good (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) had a bit of a battle in the first set of his no. 3 singles match against Eddie McMurtrie, before finishing with a 7-5, 6-2 win.

The Juniata women's tennis team will face Indiana Univ. of Pennsylvania on Thursday, March 25, at 3:30 p.m. in Indiana, Pa., and both teams will open Landmark Conference play this Saturday, March 27, when they host Moravian College.
