HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Dustin Drake (Mount Union, Pa./ Mount Union) has been named Landmark Conference Men's Field Player of the Week for the week ending March 21, 2010, for his performance at the Wake Forest Open in the javelin.

Drake made the provisional qualifying mark for the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the javelin on Friday, March 19. He placed seventh overall in the javelin with a final throw of 59.77m (196-01), cracking the provisional mark of 57.80m (189-7). His seventh place finish was the highest on the Juniata squad for the meet.

Drake earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships last season in the javelin with a throw of 60.82 (199-6). If Drake's new mark holds through the 2010 season, it would give him a second straight qualifying throw in his sophomore season.

Drake and the rest of the Juniata College men's and women's track and field team travel to the Western Pa. Championships hosted by California University of Pennsylvania, on Saturday March 27.
