The acoustic talent and artistic maturity Curtis brings to her performance sets the scene for a lively show. She will be coming to Juniata as a solo musician.

As a performer with 15 years of experience, Curtis has recorded nine solo albums and recently released "Hello Stranger," her 10th album in August 2009. The album features a string band (fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and acoustic guitar). Each album she has released radiates insightful lyrics and honesty, while putting an endearing spin on modern folk music.

Curtis has performed many live shows, but some of her music may be more familiar to fans of films and television. Her songs have been featured on "Dawson's Creek," "Felicity," "Alias," "Chicago Hope," and "Grey's Anatomy," as well as in several independent films.

The talented acoustic artist has toured with Lilith Fair as well as singer-songwriters Dar Williams and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

In 2009 Curtis was selected to perform at the Human Rights Campaign's official inaugural ball for President Barack Obama. She was also named grand prize winner of the International Songwriting Competition in 2006 for her song "People Look Around," co-written with Mark Erelli. "Hello Stranger," Curtis' latest album, was named one of the top 10 folk CDs of 2009 by the Boston Globe.

"With a clear, deceptively gentle voice, she can turn on a dime and thrill the listener with unforeseen power and emotion," says RollingStone.com, raving about her ability to connect with an audience.
