HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College men's volleyball retained the number one position in the AVCA for the seventh straight week, carrying first place on 15 of 16 ballots in the poll.

Juniata (1-3) tallied 239 points in this week's ranking of Division III programs, as voted on by the coaches. The Eagles have been atop the AVCA poll since March 31, 2009,

Springfield College (3-3) and UC-Santa Cruz (5-3) were tied for second in the poll with 212 points, with neither program earning a first place vote. Baruch College was fourth (184 points), followed by Rivier College (169 points) in fifth position.

Carthage College was sixth with 162 points, and received the remaining first-place vote. Rounding out the top ten were Philadelphia Biblical (148 points), Stevens (133 points), NYU (112 points), and Vassar College (101 points).

Juniata will put its number one ranking on the line this Saturday, Feb. 6, when the Eagles face ninth-ranked and EIVA Hay Division foe NYU at 7:30 p.m. at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
