ALTOONA, Pa. - The Juniata College womens' swim team defeated Hood College 46 to 42, Saturday at Penn State Altoona's Tri-meet against Hood College and Penn State Altoona, giving Head Coach Lauren O'Donnell her first win of her career.

The Eagles out swam the Blazers, but could not beat the Lions, 62-38, due only to Penn State having more swimmers in each event. Juniata swimmers took first in six events during the Tri-meet.

Sophomore Evan Beatty (Hershey, Pa./ Hershey) and junior Lindsay Cooper (Altoona, Pa./ Altoona) each placed first in three events.

Beatty swam to a first place finish, winning all the distance events in the meet. She placed first in the women's 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:11.32; the 200 yard freestyle clocking in at 2:14.48; and the 500 yard freestyle finishing with 5:59.71.
