HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The women's swimming team finished its home campaign with a dual meet loss, 70-49, against Drew University inside the Binder Natatorium on Friday evening.

Both teams used depleted rosters throughout the meet, resulting in many of the events having one-on-one type matchups.

Sophomore Evan Beatty (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) earned nine points, the most you can earn in a single event, in two events in which she was the only competitor. She finished the 800-meter freestyle in 10:36.60, while gaining another nine points in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 5:17.17.

The closest race of the night was the 100-meter breaststroke. Taking the lead through the first two turns, the Eagles' Lindsay Cooper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was nipped on the backstretch as she finished second with a time of 1:27.51. Kati Eggert won the event, swimming it in 1:26.58.

The 200-meter freestyle relay team earned 11 points as they finished in a time of 2:24.78, in an uncontested event to close out the meet.

Juniata's final tune-up before the Landmark Conference Championships is a tri-meet with Penn State Altoona and Hood College, on January 30. The meet will be held at Penn State Altoona.
