KINGS POINT, N.Y. -- Junior forward Jen Hnatuck (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) scored 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead Juniata College women's basketball to a 73-41 Landmark Conference victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Friday night at O'Hara Hall.

A 10-0 run by Juniata (9-8, 3-3 Landmark) over the span of two minutes resulted in the Eagles grabbing a 23-11 lead by the 7:40 mark of the first half. Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic) and Jordan Speck (Huntingdon, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) each had 3-pointers during the Juniata run, while Brittany Danel (Stoystown, Pa./North Star) added a pair of jumpers.

Juniata's lead reached 17 points at the intermission, and the Eagles extended their lead to 23 points with buckets by Bankos, Hnatuck, and Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) to open the second half.

The Eagles shot just 39.4 percent from the field in the opening half, but held the Mariners to just under 19 percent shooting from the floor. Juniata finished the game with a 44.6 percent shooting clip, after hitting 16 of 32 field goal attempts in the second half.

Bankos joined Hnatuck in double figures with 15 points, including a 3-of-5 effort from 3-point range. Danel tallied eight points off the bench. Paige Robertson (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) dished out a team-high four assists.

Merchant Marine's (6-9, 1-5 Landmark) Rebecca Grimes was the lone Mariner to score in double figures with 16 points, while Kiersten Healy tallied eight points. Janay Weathers led the Mariners on the boards with eight rebounds.

Juniata concludes the two-game Landmark Conference road trip on Saturday afternoon at Drew University in Madison, N.J. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
