SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Juniata College received kill contributions from all across its front line on its way to 3-0 win over host 18th-ranked Trinity University, in Friday night women's volleyball action at the Trinity National Invitational.

Set scores for the Eagles were 25-15, 25-23, and 25-23. Juniata improved to 28-2 with the victory, heading into tomorrow's final matches of the regular season.

Juniata hit .302 for the match, led by freshman middle Kelsey Fuller's (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) 11 kills on 23 swings for a .435 attack percentage.

"We used a lot of people here tonight, and they all did their job," said Juniata associate head coach Heather Pavlik. "This was a total team effort."

Senior opposite Paige Johnston (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), the reigning Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week, pounded down seven kills from the right antenna while hitting .538 for the match, and played only one set. Outside hitter Drew Barnhart (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) logged nine kills on 24 swings, with a .167 attack clip.

Junior setter Steph Strauss (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) set 31 assists while running the Eagle offense, and turned up 14 digs. Senior libero Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led Juniata with 17 digs.

Juniata outblocked Trinity, 6.0 to 4.0, led by senior Michelle Morchesky (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) and freshman Ashley Schnader (Reinholds, Pa./Garden Spot) with three total blocks each. Sophomore Amanda Schmidt (Boswell, Pa./North Star) tacked on two blocks.

Trinity hit .156 for the match, led by Aly Hazelwood with 12 kills on 30 swings. Amy Mittlestaedt logged seven kills.

Juniata resumes play in the Trinity National Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 31, when it faces eighth-ranked Wittenberg University at 10:00 a.m. CT (11:00 a.m. Eastern). The Eagles complete tournament play at 3:00 p.m. CT (4:00 p.m. Eastern) when they face second-ranked University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
