CLARION, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's volleyball team stepped outside the Division III ranks on Tuesday night and came away with a 3-0 win over Division II Clarion University, Tuesday night at Clarion's Tippin Gym.

Set scores for the Eagles were 27-25, 25-20, and 25-13 over Clarion, who entered the match with a 20-4 overall record, 10-1 in the PSAC West. Juniata improved to 20-2 with the victory.

Freshman middle Kelsey Fuller (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) paced Juniata offensively with nine kills, while freshman Ashley Schnader (Reinholds, Pa./Garden Spot), junior Kristin Noetzel (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional), and sophomore Drew Barnhart (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) each chipped in with seven kills. Schnader also contributed with three blocks, as did senior opposite Paige Johnston (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield). As a team, Juniata outblocked Clarion, 7.0 to 3.0.

Senior libero Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) turned up 14 digs to lead Juniata's defensive efforts, as the Eagles out-dug Clarion, 48-46.

Juniata returns to Landmark Conference play this weekend, when it travels to Catholic University in Washington, D.C., for the second of two round-robin weekends. The Eagles will face the University of Scranton, Susquehanna University, and Moravian College during the two-day event.
