HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's volleyball sophomore Drew Barnhart (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) and field hockey senior Denalyn Spratt (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) were each the recipient of weekly honors from the Landmark Conference, for the week ending October 11, 2009.

Spratt was named the Landmark's Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, after leading the Eagles to a pair of wins in conference play. The senior goalie recorded nine saves and allowed one goal late in the game in Juniata's 2-1 victory over Catholic University, improving the Eagles' record to 11-2, 4-0 Landmark. The late goal she allowed against the Cardinals ended a streak of 333 scoreless minutes in the Juniata cage. Earlier in the week, she logged a pair of saves in a 2-0 shutout over Susquehanna University.

Juniata dropped a 1-0 decision at Alvernia University on Monday evening, and returns to the field this Saturday, Oct. 17, at Drew University.

Barnhart earned Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors after leading the Eagles to four wins at the Christopher Newport University Invitational in Newport News, Va.

An outside hitter, Barnhart averaged 3.07 kills per set and matched a season-high of 19 kills in a five-set win over Christopher Newport. She also recorded a team-high nine service aces over the weekend, while adding eight blocks. This is the third time Barnhart has earned Landmark player of the week honors this season; she received the award back on September 8 and September 14.

The Eagles complete their Landmark Conference slate this weekend, when they face the University of Scranton, Susquehanna University, and Moravian College in round-robin play at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
