HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College senior Kyle Mazur (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Morris Catholic) has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, for the week ending March 22, 2009.

Mazur won the javelin competition at the Roanoke College Maroon Invitational on Saturday, March 21, with a throw of 209-10, surpassing the automatic qualifying mark for this season's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Mazur's throw was 13 feet past his previous personal best, which was set in 2007 at the NCAA national meet where he finished sixth and earned All-America honors.

According to the track website Apple Raceberry JaM, which charts performance rankings throughout the season in Division III, Mazur currently has the longest javelin mark in Division III by four feet, nine inches.

Juniata men's and women's track & field will compete at the Western Pennsylvania Track & Field Championships this Saturday, March 28, in California, Pa.
