TOWSON, Md. -- Juniata College women's soccer got a win and some help on Saturday, to earn the program's second conference tournament berth in as many seasons.

Juniata knocked off Goucher College 4-1 on Saturday in Towson, Md., then waited to hear that Catholic University beat Susquehanna 3-0, and that Moravian College defeated Drew University 2-0. That was exactly the combination that the Eagles needed to get a slot in the Landmark Conference Tournament, which opens Wednesday with semifinal matches.

Fourth-seeded Juniata will head to Bethlehem, Pa., to face no. 1 seed Moravian, while second-seeded Catholic will host the University of Scranton in the other semifinal.

Juniata (9-5-1, 3-3-0 Landmark) got on the scoreboard first against Goucher, with Caitlin Bigelow (La Mesa, Calif./Academy of Our Lady of Peace) scoring in the eighth minute off an assist from Aimee Radic (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area). Emily Pendleton (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) scored what was eventually the game winner just four minutes later, when she took a feed from Bigelow and put it past Gopher keeper Kellen Matthews.

Shannon Pierce (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) rounded out Juniata's first half scoring, with an unassisted goal in the 16th minute.

Laura Goodlander (Etters, Pa./Red Land) expanded the Juniata lead to 4-0 in the 57th minute, with a goal that was assisted by Pierce. Goucher's Sarah Lodge spoiled the Juniata shutout attempt with a goal in the 83rd minute, assisted by Nicole Sanfilippo.

Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) played the first half in the Juniata goal, recording one save. Kristen Penska (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) replaced Auster-Gussman in the second half, and had one save while allowing the lone Goucher goal.

Juniata outshot the Goucher Gophers (7-10-1, 0-6-0 Landmark) 21-7, and had a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
