LATROBE, Pa. -- Juniata College's second half rally fell came up one goal short of the mark, as the Eagle men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 loss at St. Vincent College on Sunday afternoon in Latrobe, Pa. St. Vincent scored a pair of goals early in the first half. Luis Rodriguez got the Bearcats on the scoreboard just five minutes into the game. Barely two minutes later, Rodriguez fed Dave Lauteri who one-touched a ball past Juniata keeper Joe Kohler (Vienna, Va./James Madison). The Eagles (2-2-0, 0-0-0 Landmark) responded in the second minute of the second half, with Aaron Bray (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) burying a goal off an assist from Noah Bowers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley). All Juniata's attempts for a game-tying goal later in the second half were denied; nine of the Eagles' 12 shots in the second half were wide or high of the goal, and two others were blocked by St. Vincent keeper Brandon Bower. For the game, Juniata outshot SVC, 23-12. Kohler played all 90 minutes in the Juniata goal, recording four saves. Bower finished the match with nine stops. Juniata returns home for its next match, when it hosts McDaniel College on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 4:00 p.m. on Winton Hill Field. -30-
