HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College would like any members of a church or school choir or any individual interested in singing with a large choir to come to an intensive music workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 14 in Rosenberger Auditorium in Oller Hall on the Juniata campus.

The workshop, led by Anthony Leach, assistant professor of music at Penn State University, will lead to a community performance of spirituals, sacred hymns and gospel songs as the central program for the 11th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17 in Rosenberger Auditorium. The songs to be performed will be taught by rote during the workshop.

"Please consider being a part of what will be an amazing musical celebration of our community and our nation, as well as our highest ideals and aspirations," says Dan Cook-Huffman, assistant dean of students at Juniata.

For anyone in the community who would like to participate in the choir, please call the Dean of Students office at (814) 641-3150. Please leave your name and the voice part you typically sing either with the staff assistant or on voice mail.

Contact April Feagley at feaglea@juniata.edu or (814) 641-3131 for more information.
