HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata College junior Beth Kozak (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Third Team for women's volleyball. Kozak has been Juniata's top setter throughout the season with 1,108 assists (12.88 per game) with 240 digs (2.79 per game) for the Eagles, who begin play this afternoon in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship's Haverford Regional. Academically, Kozak has a 3.57 grade points average in elementary and special education. She is the first Juniata player to be named to an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team since 2004, when former Eagles Carli Dale (First team) and Erin Wisor (Second team) were named to the squad. Kozak was also the only Landmark Conference women's volleyball player to earn Academic All-District honors. Juniata (33-4) begins defense of its 2006 national championship this afternoon, when it faces Philadelphia Biblical University at 1:00 p.m. at Haverford College's Gooding Arena. -30-
