For Immediate Release Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 Contact: Pete Lefresne, 814-641-3134 JUNIATA SELECTED TO HOST FIRST ROUND NCAA FIELD HOCKEY MATCHUP Eagles receive at-large bid; to host Johns Hopkins in first round HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata College field hockey team will host Johns Hopkins University in an NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship First Round game on Wednesday, Nov. 7, on Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices for the game will be $5.00 for adults, and $3.00 for senior citizens and students of the participating institutions. Juniata earned its third appearance in the NCAA tournament on the strength of it 19-2 overall record and Landmark Conference championship. The Eagles enter the tournament with an 11-game win streak, longest in program history, and will be meeting Johns Hopkins for the first time since 2003. The Blue Jays received an at-large berth in the tournament out of the Centennial Conference. The Eagles previously appeared in the NCAA Tournament in both 2004 and 2006. Last season, the Eagles dropped a 1-0 double-overtime decision at Kenyon College in a first round matchup. In Juniata\'s 2004 trip to the NCAA Tournament, the Eagles fell to Cortland State 2-1, in a game played at Middlebury College in Vermont. The winner of the Juniata-Johns Hopkins match will face Ursinus College on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 1:30 p.m. in a Second Round game hosted by Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. -30-
