HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Six members of the Juniata College women's volleyball team were named to the All-Landmark Conference squads, as released by the conference on Wednesday afternoon. Junior outside hitter Amber Thomas (Ephrata, Pa./Conestoga Valley) was named the Landmark's Player of the Year, while sophomore libero Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was voted the league's Specialist of the Year. Both were also First team All-Landmark Conference selections. Thomas currently leads the Eagles with 414 kills (4.36/g) with 276 digs (2.91/g), while Sollenberger has logged a team-high 693 digs (6.13/g) to go with 57 service aces, and 68 set assists. Joining Thomas and Sollenberger on the First team All-Landmark Conference roster are sophomore opposite Paige Johnston (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), senior middle hitter Erin Albert (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola), and junior setter Beth Kozak (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area). Albert is second on the team in kills with 315 (3.46/g) and leads Juniata in total blocks with 103 (1.13/g). Johnston is third in kills with 240 (2.64/g) to go with 38 blocks (0.42/g). Kozak is Juniata's primary setter with 1039 set assists (12.99/g) and has logged 230 digs (2.88/g) this season. Sophomore middle hitter Megan Lamens (Schellsburg, Pa./Berlin Brothersvalley) was Juniata's lone selection on the Second team All-Landmark Conference squad. Lamens has 226 kills (2.54/g) to her credit, and is second in total blocks with 60 (0.67/g). Second-ranked Juniata, top seed in the Landmark Conference Women's Volleyball Tournament, is hosting fourth-seeded Moravian College in a semifinal match Wednesday night, Oct. 31, in Huntingdon. The Eagles finished the regular season with a 31-4 record, including a 6-0 mark in Landmark Conference play. -30-
