HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Four Juniata College student-athletes have been recognized by the Landmark Conference with Player of the Week honors, for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 16. Senior forward Michelle Campbell (Annville, Pa./Northern Lebanon) was named Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a pair of goals as Juniata enjoyed a perfect 3-0 week - including two wins over nationally-ranked opponents. Campbell logged the game-winning tally as the Eagles downed 20th-ranked Elizabethtown College, and then notched what proved to be the game-winning goal in Juniata\'s 6-0 win over Richard Stockton. Junior goalie Abby Funk (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) earned Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week honors after posting one shutout and allowing just one goal over Juniata\'s three games last week. She tallied nine saves while leading the Eagles to a 1-0 win over 10th-ranked Rowan University, in addition to wins over Elizabethtown and Richard Stockton. Juniata field hockey is currently ranked 19th in the nation with a 5-1 record. Senior goalkeeper Lisa Russo (Haskell, N.J./Lakeland) earned Women\'s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors after not conceding a goal while leading Juniata to a pair of victories last week. She recorded nine saves in her second shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over Rutgers-Newark, and made two saves in her 30 minutes of playing time in a 4-1 win over Chatham University. Russo has not allowed a goal in her last 203 minutes played, going back to a 2-1 win over Penn State-Altoona on September 6. Women\'s soccer has a 5-1-0 overall record. Senior outside hitter Amber Thomas (Ephrata, Pa./Conestoga Valley) was named Women\'s Volleyball Player of the Week for her efforts in three Juniata wins over ranked teams at the Washington University (Mo.) Teri Clemens Invitational. Thomas piled up 65 kills and 38 digs with a .294 hitting percentage in three matches, including 24 kills and 11 digs in a 3-2 win over #4 Washington (Mo.), and 17 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 win over #3 Wisconsin-Whitewater. Thomas wrapped up the weekend with 24 kills in a win over #14 University of La Verne (Calif.). With this weekend\'s three wins, women\'s volleyball improves its record to 12-1 overall. -30-
