HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata carried five of six singles matches and two of the doubles matches to post a 7-2 in over Division I St. Francis University, Sunday afternoon at Juniata\'s Raffensperger Tennis Courts in Huntingdon. In the men\'s match, the Eagles dropped a 7-2 decision to the Red Flash. Eagle sophomore Amanda Fontana (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over St. Francis\' Ruxandra Ionescu at #1 singles, setting the tone for the afternoon for the women\'s team. Newcomer Megan Zerba (Mount Marion, N.Y./Saugerties) notched a victory in her #5 singles match with a three-set win, 4-6, 6-1, 11-9. In doubles action, Fontana teamed with Aggie Kwon (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley), a pairing that went 6-6 last season, and posted an 8-5 win over Ionescu and Eva Keresztes. On the men\'s side, Jarrad Silver (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) had Juniata\'s lone singles win, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 over St. Francis\' Ajay Nune. Arnab Chakrabarti (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta) and Silver teamed up to log an 8-6 win over Andrei Sandu and Nune in #1 doubles. The Eagles return to action on Sept. 24, when they face Penn State-Behrend at 3:00 p.m. in Huntingdon.
