HUNTINGDON, Pa. --Juniata College will host a free carnival for small children from pre-kindergarten up to third-graders from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 18 at the Intramural Gym in the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center on the Juniata campus. All children must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian or they cannot attend. The carnival is sponsored by the Juniata College Community Service office. In addition, several other events will be happening simultaneously outside the gym entrance in the parking lot. --A Car Seat Safety Check. Several certified car seat safety technicians will inspect car seats to ensure seats are properly installed and safe. According to industry statistics, four out of five car seats are installed incorrectly. --The Huntingdon Fire Department will set up its Fire Safety Trailer. The trailer is a model house, including a mock-up kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, that provides training for children and parents in what to do when faced with a fire emergency. --Shaver\'s Creek Environmental Center will bring animals and wildlife artifacts for educational presentations. Free food and snacks will be provided, including hot dogs, juice and snow cones. Visitors will get a chance to participate in a variety of games, including face painting, basketball shooting challenge, temporary tattoos and parachute games. Various student organizations and community agencies will be present to provide games, activities and educational materials.
