HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Bill Noblitt, former executive director of university relations at Auburn University of Montgomery in Montgomery, Ala. from 2003 through 2006, has been hired by Juniata College as associate vice president of marketing, effective immediately.
Noblitt will oversee the college's marketing efforts, which include media relations, Juniata's alumni magazine, Web design and content, market research and college publications such as viewbooks, enrollment and fund-raising brochures and other student recruitment material.

Bill's vast experience makes him a perfect candidate to take Juniata to the next level."
Noblitt led a large staff at Auburn University, where he developed a new marketing campaign called "The Power of You." He also redesigned the university's alumni magazine and created capital campaign publications.
Noblitt earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and went on to earn a master's degree in education, both from the University of Alabama. He started his career as a journalist, working as a copy editor at the Birmingham Post-Herald in Birmingham, Ala., from 1973 to 1975.
He started his career in university public relations in 1975 as alumni publications editor at the University of Alabama. He became director of the news bureau at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. in 1979 and moved to the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill. in 1980. He later became director of publications at Washington University, in St. Louis, Mo., where he worked from 1982 to 1987.
In 1987, Noblitt accepted a position as director of university relations at Rice University in Houston, Texas, leaving in 1991 to work at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis. from 1991 to 1992. From 1992 to 1995, he worked as editor and designer of the alumni magazine at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, followed by a stint as editor and designer of the alumni magazine for Loyola University Chicago from 1995 to 2003.
During his career, Noblitt also maintained a business as a magazine and tabloid design consultant from 1996 to the present. He worked with such clients as Rockhurst University, Northern Michigan University, Indiana State University, Clemson University, the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis and the Foundation for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Noblitt is active in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. At various times, he has served as a faculty member for the group's Annual Assembly, conference chair, program chair and other positions. He also has served as a member of the CASE consulting team from 1982 to the present.
He has had a variety of articles published in the CASE magazine Currents and contributed to the book "Great Ideas" by Charles Michael Helmken.
