Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College placed 27 athletes on the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation (MASCAC) Academic Honor Roll for the spring sports season. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior; have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have completed the winter sports season in good standing on their team. Juniata's 27 athletes were the eighth most among MAC schools during the season. Juniata had players named from each of its five winter varsity sports.

The Juniata College men's track and field team that earned a fifth-place finish at the MAC Championships was represented by eight athletes. The group was led by seniors Dave Bowser (Brentsville District/New Windsor, Md.) and Jeremy Weber (Garden Spot/Mohnton). Juniors Michael Chirdon (Riverview/Verona), Adam Loser (Central York/York), Gary Ondecko, Jr. (Bishop Carroll/Nothern Cambria) and Mike Vella (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg) were also chosen to represent Juniata. Sophomores Randy Anderson (DuBois/DuBois) and Mohammad Ali Khoshnevisan (Seneca Valley/Germantown,Md.) rounded out the men's track selections.

The women's indoor track team also produced eight Honor Roll athletes from its team that placed sixth at the conference championships. Betsy Kusniez (Boyertown/Gilbertsville) was the lone senior represented among the honorees. Three juniors from this season's team were selected as Nancy Hayes (Westminster/Westminster, Md.), Jennifer Marshalek (Montoursville/Montoursville), and Maria Welch (Jersey Shore/Avis) were all tabbed for the honor. Sophomores Elena Amato (Notre Dame Prep/Baltimore, Md.), Regina Diehl (Camp Hill/Camp Hill), Megan Fahy (Brandywine/Wilmington, De.) and Lauren Gates (Bishop Guilfoyle/Altoona) also represented Juniata in the conference.

Juniata's record-setting baseball team that established a new program record with 25 wins in 2005 placed five athletes on the team. Senior Matt Garner (Bellwood-Antis/Bellwood) captured his third honor roll recognition for baseball. He was joined on the team by juniors Troy Beaver (Bellwood-Antis/Bellwood), Walt Goedkoop (Manheim Township/Lancaster), Will Russell (Tyrone/Tyrone) and Cody Zong (Lewistown/McVeytown).

Juniata's men's tennis team also established a new program record with six victories in 2005 and earned four spots on the honor roll. Senior David Bullock (Central Bucks East/Jamison) and junior Jack Walfish (Spring-Ford/Royersford) were the upperclassmen represented on the team. Sophomores Jonathan Cohen (Highland Regional/Hollywood, Fla.) and Brandon Long (Lebanon/Lebanon) also earned honor roll recognition.

A pair of Eagle softball players from the team that finished with 15 victories rounds out the Juniata honor roll recipients. Senior Allison D'Ambrosia (State College/Boalsburg) and junior Jen Piston (Central Bucks East/Jamison) claimed the spots from the Juniata softball team.
