The Eagles sit 62.5 points behind the University of Scranton, and are 187 shy of first-place Albright.

Juniata?s top finish came as the Eagles earned 32 points with a third-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The Eagle team of Amy Sutherland (Norwich/Norwich, N.Y.), Jenny Bair (Huntingdon/Huntingdon), Allison Sweigart (Muhlenberg/Reading) and Kathy Trainor (King of Prussia/Lower Merion) swam a time of 8:13.64.

Trainor also posted one of the top individual finishes on the day for Juniata as she placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle. Amy Hanson (Lancaster Catholic/Elizabethtown) added a 10th-place finish in the event, while Allison Engle (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) was right behind her in 11th place.

Dana Gais (Kiski/Saltsburg) also notched a fourth-place finish for Juniata as she touched the wall fourth in the 400-yard IM. Samantha Monty added one point for Juniata as she placed 16th in the event.

The Eagles racked up 32 points in the 100-yard breaststroke as the Eagles earned three point-producing finishes. Lauren Chiappetta (St. Charles/St. Charles, Il.) led the group as she placed seventh and she was followed by Bair in eighth and Carlie Zoubek (Paul IV/Burke, Va.) in ninth.

Finally, Juniata added 16 points with two swimmers finishing in the top-16 in the 100-yard backstroke. Sutherland led the way with a seventh-place finish while Collin Thompson (Altoona/Altoona) was 13th.

Juniata opened up competition on the second day with a sixth-place effort in the 200-yard medley relay. Sutherland, Bair, Sweigart and Trainor again teamed up, this time posting a time of 1:56.85 which earned 26 points for Juniata.

Juniata?s 325 points is well ahead of its two-day total from 2004 when the Eagles had 291.5 points. Juniata went on to earn a program-best third-place finish in 2004, and are looking to top that this season. The MAC Championships will conclude with six individual events and a pair of relays on Sunday.
