Selinsgove, Pa.? The Juniata College men?s and women?s track and field teams put together some solid performances at the un-scored Orange & Maroon Classic in Selinsgrove Friday night. The meet featured competitors from more than 15 schools.

The Eagle women had their top finishes in the sprints and middle distance events. The Eagles placed three women in the top eight in the 400 as Meredith Troutman (Meyersdale/Meyersdale) finished fourth, followed by Rebecca Shoaf (Madison/Madison, N.J.) in fifth and Elena Amato (Notre Dame Prep./Baltimore, Md.) placed eighth.

Troutman also posted an eighth-place finish in the 200-meter dash. The Eagles other top-eight performance came from Nancy Hayes (Westminster/Westminster, Md.) who ran to a seventh-place finish in the 1,500.

On the men?s side the Eagles got a first-place finish from Adam Loser (Central York/York) in the high jump as he cleared 6? 4? to earn the win. Sophomore Randy Anderson (DuBois/DuBois) also had a strong meet as he placed second in the 55-meter dash and then added a sixth-place finish in the triple jump.

Also scoring well in the jumps was Jeremy Weber (Garden Spot/Mohnton) who placed third in the long jump. Juniata also recorded a strong finish in the distance medley as the Eagles finished third in a time of 11:07.70.

Juniata will be back in action next weekend at the Bucknell Bison Invitational.
