Thiel 91, Penn State Berks-Lehigh Valley 63

Huntingdon, Pa. - A 91-point explosion carried the Thiel College Tomcats to a 91-63 victory over Penn State Berks-Lehigh Valley in the consolation game of the 2004 Mutual Benefit Group "Doc" Greene Tournament.

The two teams played nearly even for the first 12 minutes of the game, as a basket from Steven Fulton of Penn State-Berks tied the game at 16 with 10:21 remaining in the first half. Thiel then exploded on a 24-0 run over the next five minutes to take a 40-26 lead with 5:27 left in the half. Daryl Moore scored 13 points during the run. The lead would expand to 27 in the half and the teams went into the locker room with Thiel holding a 45-25 edge.

A basket from Penn State Berks-Lehigh Valley's Dan Gibney cut the Thiel lead to 16 early in the second half, but Thiel responded with a 14-2 run to put the game out of reach. The Tomcats shot 44-percent from the field as the poured in 46 points in the second half to earn the comfortable win.
Moore and Gibney were the representatives on the All-Tournament Team for their respective teams.

Moore finished with a game-high 26 points and led five players in double figures for Thiel. Ryan Singleton scored 15, Max Slater had 13, Percy Sweeting scored 11 and Joe Herrmann added 10 in the winning effort. Sweeting led all players with 15 rebounds in the game, while Moore passed out six assists to lead the team.

Steven Fulton led the Lions with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Gibney, Travis Miller and Mike Blatt all scored 10 points.
