Elizabethtown 10, Juniata 0

Elizabethtown, Pa. ? The Juniata College men?s soccer team was unable to earn its second conference win of the season as the Eagles fell to Commonwealth opponent Elizabethtown 10-0 in Elizabethtown Wednesday night. Juniata is now 5-11-1 overall and 1-5 in conference action. Elizabethtown improved to 12-3 on the season and 5-0-1 in conference play.

Elizabethtown town got goals from six different players as the home team scored five goals in each half. Andrew Rummerer scored the first three tallies of the game for the Blue Jays, taking assists from Brian Healy, Michael Terry and J.T. Liss. The three goals came in the first 28 minutes of the game. Brian Zalasky added a goal two minutes later off an assist from Healy to make the score 4-0. A Brian Raveling goal with an assist from Daniel Gring made it 5-0 Elizabethtown heading into halftime.

Mark Guthridge (DuBois/DuBois) made four saves in the first half to try and stem the tide of the Etown offense, then made another three saves in the second half.

The Blue Jay offense picked up again in the second half as Healy added two goals of his own in the first five minutes. Brennan Reichenbach and Liss assisted on the tallies. Steve Petrosky scored an unassisted tally in the 61st inning to make the score 8-0. Then Mike Helsel scored the final two goals, both coming in the 65th minute. Terry picked up his second assist of the match on the ninth goal of the match.

Juniata finished with five shots in the match, to 24 for Elizabethtown. Edwin Tichenor and A.J. Fleisher each played 45 minutes in goal for the Blue Jays. Tichenor made a pair of saves in the first half.

Juniata will close out its season on Saturday when the Eagles travel to play at conference opponent Moravian.
